Two papers dealing with the noise behaviour of SSDs have been recently published. The first one, based on Monte Carlo simulations by the University of Salamanca group, relates the appearance of Gunn oscillations with an increase of the noise at lower frequencies. The second one is an experimental work by the University of Manchester group, where an excellent value of the noise equivalent power of THz detectors made with SSDs has been measured.
