The main results of the ROOTHz project were presented in an invited talk given by T. González in the E-MRS 2013 Spring Meeting held at Strasbourg on 27-31 May.
ROOTHz project highlights will be presented by the project coordinator in an invited talk during the International Workshop on Optical Terahertz Science and Technology (OTST2013), that will be held in Kyoto on 1-5 April 2013.
A six-month extension of ROOTHz (it will end by 30 June 2013) has been agreed with the European Commission in order to allow the consortium to complete the characterization of the possible THz emission in the many devices that have been fabricated until now in the different available technologies.
ROOTHz partner U. Manchester participated on the organization of the EUMW 2011, and other partners have proposed dedicated workshops on THz devices and systems and InAs Technology. The results of the ROOTHz project will also be presented on one special session on nanoelectronics.
Two papers dealing with the noise behaviour of SSDs have been recently published. The first one, based on Monte Carlo simulations by the University of Salamanca group, relates the appearance of Gunn oscillations with an increase of the noise at lower frequencies. The second one is an experimental work by the University of Manchester group, where an excellent value of the noise equivalent power of THz detectors made with SSDs has been measured.
The next ROOTHz progress meeting was held at IEMN, Lille (France) on 1st July 2011.
ROOTHz project coordinator, Javier Mateos, gave an invited talk at the IEEE Photonics Society Summer Topicals 2010, that was held in Playa del Carmen (Mexico), 19-21st July
ROOTHz project highlights were presented in a poster during the networking sessions of the Launching event of the NANOfutures European Initiative (www.nanofutures2010.eu), held in Gijón, Spain, on 15-16th June 2010
On 28 June, the brand new website of the ROOTHz project has been launched. It will display the most important project results, news, publications, events and meetings related to the project.
